Gotta Love Graphics

Using graphics is a good way to liven up your website or visually reiterate something you are writing about. However creating graphics can be a bit of trouble if your like me and do not have a talent for it! Today I spent some time creating my first very own graphic from scratch.
While I was writing the article Success Stems From Your Thoughts I had a picture that popped into to my head of a graphic I could create to go with the article. Mind you, I do not have much experience in working with or creating graphics. Regardless of this I was determined to bring the graphic I had envisioned to reality. I was going to create a freshly bloomed rose using the word thoughts for the stem, success for the petals, and you for the center of the bloom. My intention was to symbolize that your mindset (thoughts) would grow and bloom into success around you. I was so excited about my ingenius idea that I wanted to get started as soon as possible!
Before long, I found it more difficult than I had imagined to curve the word thoughts so that it would look like a stem. Using gimp2 (a free resource) I found a function that made it possible. Filled with anticipation I moved into the next phase, creating the rose pedals. I entered success (the word) and searched through the program trying every option I could think of to curve the word so it would look like a rose petal. Finding this part of the design to be difficult since I could not manipulate it properly. More determined than ever I continued to play with the program options trying all of the distortions types that were available.
After a while it became apparent that I had run into a dead-end, not wanting to abandon my idea, I began to think of an alternative to the original. In my search to distort the petals I found it was easier to leave them strait, and add a bit of flair, then it was to curve them.
All of a sudden it hit me I could create a dandelion instead, which is popularly known as a wishing flower. Someone told me when I was little that if you pick a dandelion you could make a wish and if you blew all of the petals off in one try your wish would come true.
A dandelion is similar to having a proper mindset, with a dandelion you would need to focus on making your wish (mindset you have to think of and see your goal as a reality) and take a deep breath and blow as hard as you can to eliminate all petals in one try causing them to float off into the sky (believe it is possible, take necessary actions towards your goal, and by doing so even without realizing it you will naturally begin to move in the direction you are aiming for) and then your wish comes true!
I will admit that I had originally thought of creating a rose, but I have to say that I am glad that things worked out the way they did. I have learned more about creating graphics. In the process I created a design that, in a glance, can remind you that your mindset is the way to fulfill your wishes!
Once again I have realized how the pot holes in the road of life are there so that you will steer in the right direction!

Remember Success Stems From Your Thoughts!
